Plague Island of Poveglia, italy
Plague Island of Italy
Poveglia is an island off the coast of Italy. It is an easy point to be missed and the government wants to keep it that way. It was said that they had 160000 people live their final days here suffering with the plague that had haunted over Italy once. Rumors are that 50% of its soil is made of human bodies.
Poveglia was a mental hospital in 1922. it was rumored that one doctor was torturing his patients. He made them starve, bleed, and scream for his strange experiments. Soon the patients would die of going insane or by falling from, or possibly being thrown off of, its bell tower. The hospital closed in 1968, and the ruins are still there, slowly being reclaimed by greenery. some say the tortured souls still haunt the island looking for the doctor that drove them to these horrid lives.
